What is the differences between Graduation & Convocation?

These two terms is used interchangeably by all cultures. The term Graduation means to acknowledge that the person has met academic requirements & she or she has been approved to complete the designated program of study.
And the term Convocation means to the in-person ceremony where the credential
(i.e. degree, diploma, certificate, post graduate or doctorate) is presented to the graduate.
It is common celebrated practice for graduate & Family
to gather after the ceremony of convocation for photoshoot either at the event itself or in nearby photo studio. 

What is the differences between the Convocation Robe? & Why is it matter?

In Malaysia, At present the convocation robe design & colours, (even among Religious institution),
we are following concept that set by Western World (named British Standard). 
The bachelor’s gown is a simple robe that covers the entire body with sharp sleeve.The master’s gown has longer, closed sleeves.The doctoral robe usually is the most elaborate; it is made of velvet, has three stripes on the arms, and includes a hood.
For faculty and doctoral robes, the robe itself is usually specific to the university, while the hood trim
indicates the academic discipline.
The Diploma/Certificate doesn's require robe for convocation but a lot of institution are offering robes for as part of esthetic value.
